THE DOMINO EFFECT — Passions
AN EXAMPLE - I might never have become involved with Student Energy if I had not volunteered at its summit in Bali in 2015. That first connection set off a chain reaction: attending the CEM-10/MI-4 Youth Leaders Forum in Vancouver and the Student Energy Summit in London, then becoming Southeast Asia Regional Coordinator for the Global Youth Energy Outlook—a role that led to presenting at COP26 in Glasgow and joining the Global Covenant of Mayors Youth Policy Innovation Team. BEYOND THAT - Building connections from NGOs in Malaysia to youth-led startups in Fiji required me to reconnect with former colleagues and extend the network through mutual acquaintances - Being part of a passionate and inspiring community has taught me the value of collaboration, people power, and diverse perspectives *Who we choose to surround ourselves with reveals a lot about our values and character. Most of the connections I have fostered grew from international competitions and conferences I attended at university. Like dominoes, I hope they keep opening doors to new opportunities and creating spaces where I can contribute.*
